Applications are now open for the second cohort of TechCelerator @ Luzerne County, a ten-week program designed to provide technology and product-based entrepreneurs with the education, mentorship, and resources needed to develop their business concepts.
The program is offered through a partnership among the CAN BE Innovation Center, CAN DO, Inc., Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business & Industry, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania, tecBRIDGE, Wilkes University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Wilkes-Barre Launchbox Powered by Penn State, and Hazleton Launchbox Supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq. The second cohort is supported by a grant from the Willary Foundation.
Participants will take part in weekly educational workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions covering key areas of business development, including business models, customer development, value propositions, financial basics, operating and startup costs, funding options, and legal considerations. Participants will also develop goals to help guide the continued growth of their businesses following the program.
“TechCelerator gives entrepreneurs the support and guidance they need to take the next step with their business ideas,” CAN DO Program Coordinator Ana Perez said. “We’re excited to continue working with our regional partners to connect entrepreneurs in Luzerne County with resources, experienced mentors, and opportunities that can help their businesses grow.”
At the conclusion of the cohort, participants will present their business concepts to a panel of experts during a closing showcase. The event provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to share their progress, receive feedback, and receive up to $2,500 to contribute toward their venture.
TechCelerator @ Luzerne County brings together economic development, business, and educational organizations from across the region to connect entrepreneurs with resources that can help move their ideas forward.
