Entrepreneur Spotlight: Nahomy Galan of Nahomy’s Naturals and Zumba with Nay

,

For Greater Hazleton entrepreneur Nahomy Galan, an interest in movement and wellness has developed into opportunities to build a business, teach fitness classes, and connect with members of the community. Galan is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Zumba Instructor who owns Nahomy’s Naturals and teaches Latin-inspired dance fitness classes through Zumba with Nay. This summer, she collaborated with CAN DO, Inc., the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress (DHAP), and the City of Hazleton to bring Zumba Party in the Park to Downtown Hazleton as part of CAN DO’s summer event series.

Galan became a Certified Holistic Nutritionist in 2020 and began teaching Zumba in 2025. Her passion in dance and movement, however, began much earlier.

Learn more about Galan, her path to entrepreneurship, and her work in the Greater Hazleton Area below.

Tell us a little about yourself and your connection to the Greater Hazleton Area.

I was raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, and moved to Hazleton when I was around 14 years old. I later lived in Philadelphia for a few years before returning to the area to be closer to my family after having my son.

I am a Certified Zumba Instructor, Certified Holistic Nutritionist, and wellness entrepreneur. I own Nahomy’s Naturals and have a passion for helping others feel their best through movement and wellness.

Where did your interest in movement and wellness begin?

I have always loved to dance. I participated in cheerleading and dance for many years and was even on a dance team in college.

My passion for wellness also grew while working in a doctor’s office, where I became more interested in learning about health and the importance of lifestyle and movement.

My mentor also inspired me to pursue teaching. We often talked about my desire to do more and find something I truly loved. She had previously worked as a personal trainer, and hearing about her journey inspired me to pursue Zumba and do something that genuinely makes me happy.

How did Nahomy’s Naturals begin?

My entrepreneurial journey began when people became interested in the wellness practices and products I was sharing from my own life. I saw that there was interest from my community, so I did the research and learned how to create, package, ship, and sell products online. That eventually became Nahomy’s Naturals.

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur and working with the community?

I love the feedback. It brings me so much joy to know that someone enjoyed something I created and trusted me enough to support my business.

Connecting with people and seeing the impact of what I do is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I am motivated by the support and feedback from the community and by seeing people enjoy themselves, feel confident, and make time for their well-being.

This summer, you partnered with CAN DO, DHAP, and the City of Hazleton to lead Zumba Party in the Park at the CAN DO Community Park. What interested you in getting involved?

I wanted to bring something fun, positive, and active to the community. Zumba is a great way for people to come together, move their bodies, and have fun while also supporting their physical and mental well-being.

What is something people may not know about you?

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies and Production. I previously interned and worked for a women’s magazine and once thought I would be moving to Arizona.

My life took a different direction after I became pregnant, and eventually my path led me to wellness, entrepreneurship, and building my business.
