Throughout the month of March, the CAN BE Innovation Center is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month by highlighting its female clients. In this short Q&A, we sat down with one of our incubator tenants, Roxie Scalise from Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics and Tattoo Studio, to reflect on her journey and what it means to be a female entrepreneur.
Hi, My name is Roxie and I own Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics and Tattoo Studio. I became an entrepreneur to have freedom to pursue my passion. At the time, the Hazleton area didn’t have any permanent makeup artists and I wanted to build that into our community.
To me, being a female entrepreneur means leading my business with heart and passion. During each session, I try to show my clients what makes them unique and special. This is much more important to me than just looking for a paycheck.
The advice I would give aspiring female entrepreneurs is to go for it! Never stop learning and you’ll never let yourself fail.
Kimberly Ray at Kimberly Nailed It LLC
