Dominique Pane, Hazleton Kitchen Incubator’s newest client, helps share the art of food, awarded Food Entrepreneurship Assistant Microgrant

Dominique PaneFrom a young age, Hazleton native, Dominique Pane, knew she wanted to start her own business. Her dream? To share the art of food. From growing up making homemade cavatelli with her father to earning three degrees in hospitality, pastry management, and culinary arts, saying that food is her passion is an understatement.

While Pane originally tried to launch her business in 2020, COVID and other factors prevented her from doing so. Fortunately, through mutual connections, Pane learned about the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator, a commercially-licensed culinary facility within the Hayden Family Center for the Arts in Downtown Hazleton.

Keystone Ballet Academy hosted a master ballet class with renowned Russian teacher, Valery Lantratov

Web KBA Master Ballet Class Older Group PhotoKeystone Ballet Academy recently held a master class led by renowned Russian teacher, Valery Lantratov, at its studio within the CAN BE Innovation Center.

During his career, Valery Lantratov danced in the companies of Vladimir Vasiliev, Maya Plitsetskaya, and Ekaterina Maximova. Lantratov was a principal dancer with the Moscowsky and Kremlin ballets and a guest artist with the Bolshoi. Famous ballet star, Rudolf Nureyev, personally selected him to be one of six lead dancers in his 1991 farewell tour. Lantratov also holds a teaching certificate from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) and was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia, Russia's highest artistic honor.

Hazleton Kitchen Incubator Client, Little Treats & Cakes by Janna, to host a dessert showcase at Downtown Hazleton’s HUB Welcome Center

Little Treats by Janna webLittle Treats & Cakes by Janna, a rising local business owned by Janna Cordero and a valued client of the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator, will be featured at an upcoming dessert showcase called ‘Classic Dessert Shots’. The showcase will occur at The HUB Welcome Center located at 13 W Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton on Saturday, August 12, starting at 2:00 PM EST.

Targeted to both professional bakers and the general community, this showcase will feature Cordero teaching attendees the art of creating delicious, beautiful, and affordable dessert shooters, followed by a dessert sampling. Participants can actively take part in some of the preparation, fostering a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Additionally, Cordero will share tips on how to beautifully present and decorate these desserts and will provide each attendee with her cherished recipes and a list of trusted vendors.

Hazleton Kitchen Incubator’s newest client, Little Treats and Cakes by Janna, awarded Food Entrepreneurship Assistant Microgrant

Little Treats and Cakes by JannaWhen Janna Cordero and her family moved to Drums, Pennsylvania two years ago, a close friend mentioned the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator, suggesting it would be a great opportunity for her to build cliental in their new area. Cordero went with her instinct and now ‘Little Treats and Cakes by Janna’ is the latest client within The Hazleton Innovation Collaborative (THInC) and the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator portfolio.

In addition to moving her baking operation into the shared kitchen, Cordero was recently awarded a Food Entrepreneurship Assistant Microgrant – available through the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress, a member of THInC. This microgrant is available to businesses within the Hazleton Kitchen Incubator inside of the Hayden Family Center for the Arts in Downtown Hazleton.
