CAN BE clients American Eagle Solutions and Ashley Evert win Chamber business awards

Two clients associated with CAN BE received awards as part of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce’s 2019 Business and Community Awards program.

Halogen Hair Company owner Ashley Evert, who was one of the first business owners that CAN BE officials worked with outside of its incubator as part of The Hazleton Innovation Collaborative (THInC) program, won the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, which is sponsored by CAN BE. American Eagle Solutions, which is co-owned by Shane Acernese and Robert Bradley and located in the CAN BE Innovation Center in the Valmont Industrial Park, was one of two recipients of the Green Business of the Year award.

CAN BE provides L F Knitwear owner Laura Evans with a professional operation space and business guidance

L F Knitwear owner Laura Evans has taken a unique cross-country journey to turning her entrepreneurial dreams into a reality. And, now that she has a professional base of operations in the CAN BE Innovation Center in the Valmont Industrial Park, Evans is in a solid position to continue growing her business.

At L F Knitwear, Evans uses a knitting machine to hand-loom sweaters, hats, scarves and blankets for sports fans of professional football, basketball, baseball and hockey teams in the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL. She also makes regular hand-knit bulky sweaters, blankets and scarves.

American Eagle Solutions uses its energy-efficiency services to show the benefits of CAN DO tenants working together

When American Eagle Solutions managing partners Shane Acernese and Robert Bradly combined their expertise to co-found the company in 2016, they had a plan to disrupt the typical energy-efficiency market. Just three years later, the company has grown to 10 employees and offers a unique package of services that helps its customers reduce energy costs.

Since many of its customers reside in CAN DO’s parks, it was a natural choice for the company to look at the CAN BE Innovation Center in the Valmont Industrial Park for a home for its operations.

CAN BE resources help Keystone Ballet Academy continue steady growth as the school marks second anniversary

When Emily Finer opened Keystone Ballet Academy in the CAN BE Innovation Center in 2017, she had a vision of bringing ballet instruction with a world-class style to Greater Hazleton. Over the past two years, Finer has capitalized on the services that CAN BE offers to small businesses to grow her dance school to more than 40 students who range in age from three years old to adults.
